Based in Stoke-on-Trent, the business has established itself as a trusted recruitment partner for organisations across Staffordshire and beyond, delivering tailored recruitment solutions while maintaining a people-first approach that creates lasting value for both clients and candidates.

Founded by experienced recruiter Lindsay Mitchell, Xpert was built on the belief that recruitment should be about more than simply filling vacancies.

Having worked within large national agencies, Lindsay recognised an opportunity to create a business that focused on genuine partnerships, long-term outcomes and personalised support. Together with fellow Director Alex Mitchell, she has developed Xpert into a respected and growing business that consistently delivers high-quality recruitment services across multiple sectors.

The company’s success is reflected in its strong financial performance. Turnover has grown steadily over recent years, reaching £1.75 million in the financial year ending February 2026. This growth has been achieved through exceptional customer service, repeat business, long-term client retention and strategic diversification into new sectors. Despite operating within a highly competitive and often unpredictable market, Xpert has maintained consistent growth while continuing to invest in its people and services.

At the heart of the business is a highly experienced and dedicated team. Structured across specialist Commercial and Industrial divisions, Xpert offers expert support to clients and candidates through consultants who possess deep industry knowledge and extensive recruitment experience. The Commercial division is led by Jo Thompson, while the Industrial division is managed by Operations Director Shellie Phillips.

Together, the team brings more than 60 years of combined recruitment expertise, enabling Xpert to provide informed guidance, market insight and consistently high standards of service.

Looking ahead, Xpert has ambitious but achievable plans for further growth. Over the next three years, the business aims to increase turnover beyond £2 million, successfully establish its new care division and expand its workforce from seven employees to 10.
