Hairdresser Magdalena Jermakow has clients ranging in age from one to 80-something, including some who have been with her for decades.

She opened her own salon, Studio Effect, in Queen’s Parade, Newcastle-under-Lyme, 19 years ago and still has some of the customers who had been with her previously when she worked as a mobile hairdresser.

“I have clients of all ages and types,” said Magdalena who has a team of two hairdressing staff who work alongside a two-person beauty team.

“Some of my clients are Polish, some of my clients are English, they’re all different nationalities really. Some clients have been with us from the very beginning and some were already clients when I opened. We have a good base of loyal customers. A lot of our customers have become our friends over the years.”

Studio Effect has entered the Small Business of the Year category of University of Staffordshire Business Awards.
